Several variations of Poker are played with different amounts of cards. There are also different number of players. For the maximum number of players, six to eight players are ideal. In a standard game of poker, each player receives a certain amount of chips. White chips are the lowest value, valued at five cents, while red, blue, and green chips are worth ten, twenty, and thirty cents, respectively. In a game with more than seven players, every player “buys in” to a hand. The amount of cash players buy in to a game is usually equal to the amount of chips they are using.
