Some variations are silly, such as Strip Poker, which is great for kid-free nights. Others include Holding the cards behind one’s head. There are literally endless ways to play the game. Below, we will cover the different varieties of Poker.
In poker, each round of betting begins with a player betting a certain amount of chips into the middle of the table. Each player in turn calls, raises, and folds. Depending on the game, the highest hand wins the pot. As the game progresses, betting occurs in a clockwise fashion, and each player bets until no one else makes a bet, or everyone folds. If someone calls or folds, the game is over and the remaining players are eliminated.
The best poker hand is the royal flush, which consists of five cards with the same rank and suit. The higher rank of the four-of-a-kind is the winner. If two four-of-a-kinds are tied, the high card outside the four-of-a-kind breaks the tie. Another common hand is the straight flush, which is five cards with the same rank from any suit. The highest straight flush is a royal flush.
